Blessed with the cool mountain air, Tagaytay weather is characterized by having relatively low temperatures, low humidity and abundant rainfall. Its cool climate due to its high altitude has earned the city the title of being the second summer capital of the Philippines, next to Baguio City. The city is blessed with a cool and pleasant climate with an average temperature of 22.7 degrees Celsius.

Situated 60 meters above sea level, this 65-square kilometer city is usually misty. The city becomes relatively cooler during the months of December, January and February where tourist count significantly increases as well. Tagaytay has an average humidity of 78% which make the city much cooler than Metro Manila where humidity exceeds 81%.

Like most areas cities in the country, Tagaytay has two pronounced seasons in a year, the dry season which starts November to April, and the wet season which occurs during the rest of the year. Northeastern winds prevail over the city from October to April while the southwest winds come during May to September. During this time, a nice chilly wind breezes over the entire city which makes it especially cold during night time, something ideal for Tagaytay visitors.

Its serene surroundings and pleasant weather have earned Tagaytay the reputation of being the Center for Spiritual Retreats. Conventions centers, retreat centers, and meditation areas are abundant around the city as cool weather can significantly assist in self-reflection.

Cool weather entices good appetites as well as the demand for yummy eats has grown in the city. Home-grown sumptuous Tagaytay staples make the trip to the ridge worth it with such delectable treats. Not only is the weather perfect for empty stomachs but it can be the perfect setting for proposals, engagements, weddings and anniversaries. Many have come to say their “I do’s” in such perfect outdoor weddings in Tagaytay.

Weather in Tagaytay has made the city ideal for not only leisure and recreation activities but also, simply put, the art of doing nothing. Some claim that Tagaytay weather especially during the cooler months is a more than enough reason to make the less than 2-hour drive from Manila.

Having one main road throughout the entire city certainly helped make the area pollution-free. Unfortunately, in recent years, where commercialization and tourism significantly increased in Tagaytay, the city does not possess the same claim as it did have before. Countless private vehicles and public transportations flock to the city especially during weekends, which has made the area somewhat modern and to a point even crowded. Luckily, there are still areas around the city that still have the same pollution-free appeal that the city used to possess.

Tagaytay weather is pleasantly mild all year round, which adds to its ultimately dramatic and charismatic scenery. Together with the breath-taking view of the glistering Taal Volcano and Taal Lake, Tagaytay is the best place to visit and relax in a truly pleasant and cool atmosphere.
