Behind a pair of grey gates along a dusty and bumpy road somewhere in Tagaytay lies a haven for floral lovers. The Flower Farm opens its gates to those who would love to have a glimpse of over a hundred varieties of vibrantly colored flowers.
The Flower Farm Corporation is one of the largest professional flower growers in the country. It also pioneered the introduction of modern flower varieties and floral arrangement designs, styles and trends in the county. It first opened back in 1984 as a result of a passion for flowers that soon ventured into an enterprise. The farm has harvested millions of flowers and foliage through the years has grown into providing beautiful arrangements and bouquets for over twenty years. The farm currently sits on a seven hectare-land with 15 greenhouses dedicated to chrysanthemums, gerberas and vast greenery.
The tour of the farm starts with a short history on how the farm really started. Each visitor is accommodated by the cheerful and accommodating Ms. Ann Delos Reyes and Ess, a certified agriculturist from the Central University of Baguio.
The rolling landscapes of the farm of flowers are dotted with colorful blossoms. Imagine yourself being surrounded by tall, green leafy plants that blot out the sun yet provide just enough space to let the rays of shine through to spotlight Angel’s trumpets, Justicia flowers and banedera Espanola. Navigating through the maze of flowers will lead you to a hilltop overlooking a man-made lake filled with tilapia fish and an arbor leading to a charming gazebo perfect for resting and staring into the magnificent scenery. The hillsides are also punctuated with impatiens, hydrangea, lantana and bougainvillea. From the gazebo, head straight to the orchidarium which houses dozens of beautiful orchid species. This visual feast doesn’t end with there as our olfactory sense will get tickled as well. Enter the herb garden which houses families of mint, lavender, dill, basil and rosemary.
More than growing beautiful flowers for their shops, decorations and arrangements, the farm cater to private and corporate functions and events that are also in need of their services. Imagine getting married with the freshest and most beautiful flowers around!
The farm can accommodate group tours and field trips perfect for educational and enlightenment purposes of the students who are more than eager to learn about nature, plants, flowers and gardens. Tours should be made by appointment only with a minimum of 5 persons. The farm is open from 8 am to 5 pm with an entrance fee of 100 pesos for adults and 75 pesos for students. Various plants, flowers and herbs are also available for sale if visitors wish to bring these amazing sights home.
The Flower Farm is located at Barrio Ginhawa in Tagaytay City. To get there, make a right turn at Maglabe Drive from Aguinaldo Highway and watch out for the tall signpost right before the radar compound signaling directions to the farm.
